Hello and welcome to Adventures in SharePoint – a new blog about exactly that.

What is SharePoint?
SharePoint is a Microsoft technology that allows a company to host intranet based web pages for collaboration, file sharing and web publishing.

Who am I, and what is this blog for?
My name is David Webb.  I have been working with core Microsoft technologies for approximately 15 years.  I have been using SharePoint since WSS version 2.0 and over the coming months will be installing SharePoint 2010 in different environments with various configurations.  I am using this blog to share my experiences and help anybody starting out with SharePoint 2010 understand the processes and avoid any pitfalls.  I’ll also include any tips and tricks I feel may be of use to others.
