Using the Drop Down Navigation web part

I find the Drop Down Navigation web part very useful for adding quick links to a page.  It generates a drop-down menu of URLs from a SharePoint list.

Once downloaded and installed on the server the web part becomes available to insert under the Miscellaneous category, as shown in the screenshot below:

Before  I configure the web part I need to create a list of links.  I’ll be creating a list of departments in the office and linking to their SharePoint sites.  Once the list exists and has some links in it I can configure the web part to use it, as shown in the screenshot below:
