SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 1 released

Microsoft has released Service Pack 1 for SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010.  This contains all Cumulative Updates and Public Updates for 2010 that have already shipped as well as the following new features:

Site Recycle Bin – This will enable quick and easy recovery of sites and site collections that have been accidentally deleted.

Shallow Copy – Allows site administrators to move site collections between content databases without moving the underlying data, such as Word Documents and PowerPoint files.  Previously this operation was time consuming and resource intensive.  Not any more!

Storage Space Allocation – This existed in previous version of SharePoint (as storman.aspx) and provides a granular breakdown and management of storage.  Users will be able to easily see where there quota is being used and act accordingly as it will, for example, list top 100 documents in order of size.
