Applying updates automatically during installation

When installing SharePoint onto many servers it can take some time afterwards to install the available updates.  To make life easier they can be installed automatically during installation simply by placing them into the Updates folder within the installation source.  I have just downloaded the March and April cumulative updates ahead of an installation and extracted them into the Updates folder:

The command to extract the update packages is as follows:

<package> /extract: <path>

After installation I can see that they have been installed:
