SharePoint 2013 – Configure a document expiration policy
I have been tasked with configuring an information management policy to ensure documents over a certain age are automatically archived to another location. Here is how to do this:
1. Navigate to the document library and on the Library ribbon choose Library Settings
2. Under Permissions and Management click Information management policy settings
3. Click Change Source and change the source of retention to Library and Folders (click OK if warned about content type retention schedules being ignored)
4. Enter a description for the policy and click Add a retention stageā¦
5. Configure the event and action settings accordingly. I have chosen to move documents that have not been modified for 5 years to another location. Click OK
6. Click OK
This is great, except that when I select the option to ‘Transfer to another location’, I get en error message saying “There are no registered destination locations for this site. Select another location.”
What is missing? What did you do in your site to make it work?
