Resize list columns

Often I find that the default view for lists doesn’t suit my needs as the column widths are way out.  The width of the columns cannot be modified in the browser but they can by using SharePoint Designer.  Here is how…

1. Open the site in SharePoint Designer

2. From the Navigation pane select Lists and Libraries

3. Select the list to edit

4. In the Views section click on the view to edit

5. On the Design tab use the mouse to resize the columns accordingly

6. Save the page
